More fools we
There are three kinds of fools in the world. People who believe China is Communist. And people who believe China is Communist. And then there is a minority of one who think that a 4 week visit to Beijing to attend a summer school makes them competent enough to comment on the economic and social policies of China.

Wow..... We both broke our blogging inertia on the same day... :-)
There are also those who believe that India is a democracy ;-) When out of the eligible population 60% votes (an optimistic number), a party comes to power usually with about 30-35% of the votes cast. 1/3rd of 2/5ths votes - a pathetic percentage, and we have not even counted kalla vote, communities threatened if they go out and vote, people who have deliberately been removed from voting lists (Our intellectuals are more bothered about Blacks being removed from the electoral roles in Florida), people who are not on voting list due to sheer govt. inefficiency, etc etc. Maybe coalition governments are not bad if you look at it purely from a numbers perspective.
As for the instant experts even if you take the so-called better channels like BBC, you will notice that you see the same faces again and again. These experts parachute into different countries without knowing the language or culture, and manage to sound authoritative to ignorant audiences. To be fair though, it's impossible to be a 'world' expert for any individual or organisation. Journalism for the most part is a Mokkai profession with too many pretensions waiting to be taken down.
oops, I meant 1/3rd of 3/5ths.
